The Police on Tuesday, charged two men before a Wuse Chief Magistrates’ Court in Abuja, for allegedly buying stolen cable wires.
The defendants, Abdullahi Ahmed, 34; and Hussaini Umar,31, both residents of Jahi in Abuja, are standing trial on a one-count charge of criminal conspiracy.
She alleged that his security guard stole his cable wires worth N2.8 million and sold one and half rolls of the 16mm cable worth N400,000, to the first defendant (Ahmed) at the rate of N13,000.
The prosecutor alleged that the second defendant also bought another cable wire worth N400,000 at the rate of 48,000 .
She said that during police investigation, they both confessed to have purchased the stolen property.
