Veterans across Grand County gathered July 1 to raise a new flag at the Flying Heels Rodeo. “I think this flag represents everything that we’re about here in Granby and Grand County — the freedoms that we all live and appreciate every day. “To me, this is a very special event,” said Randy George, Grand County commissioner for District 3. “I grew up here and lived here pretty much my whole life,” said Merritt Linke, Grand County commissioner for District 2. “That was my job when I signed up in the Army — to defend and then keep it going — and that promises that we all are able to breathe freely, walk freely, think freely, and in some cases act freely.
