McIntosh has unveiled its new flagship MX124 A/V Processor, targeting luxury home cinema installations with 13-channel audio processing, support for four subwoofers and 8K video connectivity. It supports Dolby Atmos, DTS Pro, Sony 360 Reality Audio and MPEG-H Audio, with nine 32-bit digital-to-analogue converters handling audio processing. The MX124 is a processor rather than a traditional A/V receiver, meaning it does not include built-in amplification. For video, the processor includes seven HDMI inputs and three HDMI outputs, including one with eARC. All seven inputs support 8K video at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz, alongside Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG and IMAX Enhanced.
