VALU Tanē Bentley will follow in his father’s footsteps after signing for Oldham for the remainder of the Championship season. The 23-year-old forward joins the Roughyeds after his departure from Dewsbury Rams – where he made 12 appearances in his inaugural second-tier campaign. Bentley will retrace the steps of his father Valu, who made over 50 appearances for Oldham across three seasons from 2010 to 2012. And the head coach believes Bentley, who has also spent time in rugby union with Sale Sharks, Fylde and Sedgley Tigers and Lancashire, will only get better during his time with the Roughyeds. “He has a rugby union background and has done really well in league over the last few years, notably while at Leigh reserves last year, where he was one of their standout performers.”
