Che, who also performed at a Minneapolis hair salon four years ago, isn't the only big-timer who has gravitated to intimate spaces in the Twin Cities.
A-listers Ryan Hamilton and David Cross both appeared at Acme Comedy Company earlier this year.
Tom Segura, who performed at St. Paul's massive Grand Casino Arena last April, has five sold-out shows at Minneapolis's Acme Comedy Company in late August.
Often these well-known comics use intimate settings like Acme, which seats about 300, to test out new material.
"Big-name comics like small venues because they need the audience response to put their new set together," Lee said.
