North Baja Flows Support SoCal Natural Gas Prices as Mexico LNG Nears Completion

Flows from TC Energy’s North Baja Pipeline into Mexico are holding steady within their recent range as Sempra Infrastructure targets substantial completion of its Energía Costa Azul (ECA) LNG export plant this summer.
San Diego’s Sempra Infrastructure is targeting “substantial completion” of its 3.25 Mt/y ECA LNG export plant in Mexico for this summer after shipping out its first cargo earlier this month.
According to Criterion Research analyst Kincaid Peckham, North Baja flows at Ogilby have “been limited for recent weeks… running well below the June peaks that we saw when flows were high to ECA LNG downstream.”
Natural gas passes through the Arizona and California border near Ehrenberg before entering the North Baja Pipeline, which carries volumes south.
By comparison NGI’s Henry Hub index increased 2.5 cents cents to average $2.790 and Permian Basin benchmark Waha rose 30.5 cents to average $1.960.
