LAS VEGAS — Since its inaugural edition in Lugano, Switzerland, in 2019, the Panettone World Cup has celebrated the history, craftsmanship and international appeal of panettone.
This year, the Panettone World Cup held its first-ever Americas Selection, which took place on Sept. 16 during the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) in Las Vegas.
Martinez Jaime from the United States and Emmidio Isernia of Canada were crowned the winners in the Traditional category while Flores Torres Wilson of Ecuador and Vielma Ammary Coromoto from the United States won in the Chocolate category.
They are now eligible to represent their countries in the Panettone World Cup Grand Final in Milan in 2026.
“The Americas selection was a success,” said Giuseppe Piffaretti, master pastry chef and creator of the Panettone World Cup.
