Women empowerment is about giving every woman right to choose - Ambassador Liu JinHis Excellency, Liu Jin, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Banjul, has underlined that women empowerment is not about granting them favour, but giving every woman the right to choose, the capacity to develop and the space to participate. Ambassador Liu Jin made this statement at the China-Gambia Bantaba on women empowerment held Friday, 17 July 2026 at the China Embassy in Bijilo. Ambassador Liu Jin emphasised that women’s empowerment is never just about women, but it concerns every family, every community, and the future of an entire nation. Ambassador Liu Jin added that China’s commitment to Women’s Empowerment is long-standing and global, explaining that in 1995, China hosted the Fourth World Conference on Women. She further thanked the Chinese government, Ambassador Liu Jin and the embassy for giving them the opportunity.
