Shafaqna English- According to a report released on Tuesday(21 Jul 2026), China’s installed capacity of utility-scale wind and solar farms now exceeds that of the entire rest of the world put together; however, the actual utilization of this renewable energy remains constrained by insufficient grid interconnection infrastructure and the country’s persistent dependence on coal-generated electricity. China’s UHVDC transmission lines carry a power mix in which wind and solar constitute about 20%, a proportion that has barely shifted since 2021, while coal-fired generation still dominates at 42%, according to the Global Energy Monitor. www.shafaqna.com
