Destin Daniel Cretton, the director behind Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has revealed that he took a lot of inspiration for the new film from Insomniac Games‘ critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man video game franchise. So a lot of the people in our stunt department loved playing those video games. As such, Peter focuses on his Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man antics, but now comes up against a series of brand new threats including Scorpion and Tombstone. Insomniac Games launched its Spider-Man series back in 2018 for the PS4 and followed it up with Spider-Man: Miles Morales in November 2020, which served as a launch game for the PS5. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 arrived in October 2023, and is to date the latest entry in Insomniac’s web-slinging series of video games.
