NAB has become the first major bank to slash credit card reward benefits for customers ahead of the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) surcharge ban.
While NAB hasn't yet announced changes to NAB-branded credit cards, it has unveiled changes to its white-label card brands including MyCard, Virgin Money and Bank of Queensland.
Virgin Money's Velocity Flyer Card will see its annual fee increase from $149 to $169 per annum, with earn rates dropping.
BOQ's Platinum Visa and Blue Visa credit cards will both see their retail purchase rates increase from 20.99 to 21.99 per cent per annum.
The Champagne Mile's Adele Eliseo expects most other banks and credit card providers will follow NAB's move.
