The tense final also attracted an average audience of 13.9 million on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with the BBC having a 64% share of all TV viewing. On BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app, the final was streamed 11.1 million times, including 2.4 million UHD (ultra high definition) streams on BBC iPlayer. “The response has been extraordinary, and we’re incredibly grateful that so many people made the BBC part of their World Cup.” Across the whole tournament, the BBC saw an overall reach of 42.8 million across TV viewing, with World Cup matches being streamed 237 million times on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app, more than double the figures for the 2022 World Cup.
