Garyn McAllister, who boxes out of North Down BC, is eager to make his mark at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. McAllister had impressed at intermediate level, but knew taking on the top heavyweights at elite level was a different ball game entirely. At 21, McAllister has plenty more nights like that ahead – with the upcoming Commonwealth Games another opportunity to develop into the fighter he feels he can become. “But when you go to that elite level, it’s a completely different game; guys who are competing on the world stage, like Jack. “Going to the Commonwealth Games was always an ambition… my dad had me doing a lot of sports when I was younger; between kickboxing, swimming, football, I was always active.
