Frank Ferguson, Chief Crown Prosecutor, said, “We have decided to prosecute Joshua Kerry for murder following a police investigation into the death of Ann Widdecombe in Haytor, Dartmoor. Widdecombe was a Conservative minister under John Major and later joined the Reform party as its immigration spokesperson. The initial investigation into her death was led by Devon and Cornwall Police before Counter Terrorism Policing took over after "new information and evidence" came to light. Devon and Cornwall police said they believed Widdecombe was attacked the day before her body was found.
