Article contentLarry Silverberg is internationally recognized as one of the foremost authorities on the Meisner Technique and contemporary actor training. The college welcomed acting teachers, directors, and professional actors from across Canada and around the world during the first two weeks of July as it hosted the Meisner Teacher Certificate Training Program. Participants engaged in an immersive exploration of Sanford Meisner’s renowned approach to actor training while also developing the skills and understanding required to teach the technique to others. Silverberg, along with many others, says the goal of the Meisner technique has often been described as helping actors ‘live truthfully under imaginary circumstances.’ But as an actor we must be free of the act, free of limitation.
