Recently, a group of concerned citizens in Seward County, filed a Recall Petition on Seward County Commissioner Steve Helm with Seward County Attorney Russell Hasenbank. In an official statement, Hasenbank stated:“After Review of the “Petition for Recall of an Elected Official” regarding Steve A. Helm, County Commission, District 5, I find the Petition to be insufficient in its current form. However, the Petition on its face and within the four corners of the document MUST include facts sufficient to support the reason for the recall. The exhibits cannot and are not considered a part of the consideration of what is stated in the Petition even though they are referenced in the Petition.
