The Federal Government has revived 16 abandoned digital e-library projects in Federal Unity Colleges as part of efforts to modernise public schools and promote technology-driven learning. Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, disclosed this on Monday while commissioning a newly upgraded digital e-library and innovation hub at the Federal Government College (FGC), Kano. Alausa said the project reflects the Tinubu administration’s commitment to expanding access to quality digital education. The minister revealed that the government inherited 36 abandoned e-library projects across Unity Colleges but has completed 16 through the intervention of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC). The minister added that more than one million out-of-school children had returned to classrooms over the past 24 months through reforms under the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative.
