The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched a three-day special patrol across Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states to tackle overloading, mixed loading and other traffic offences linked to road crashes.
The operation, codenamed “Daidaita Lodi” and “Lodi Limit,” is being conducted simultaneously across the FRSC’s 12 zones nationwide to improve compliance with road safety regulations.
Sokoto State Commissioner for Transport, Bala Kokani Kebbe, described the campaign as timely, noting that overloading remains a major cause of avoidable road crashes.
He assured the FRSC of the state government’s support in enforcing traffic laws to protect lives and property.
Earlier, the Sokoto State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Adamu Argungu, warned that offenders arrested during the operation would be prosecuted by a Mobile Court.
