Evacuation orders have been issued by two regional districts in response to a 30-hectare wildfire burning in the Pear Lake area northwest of Cache Creek. The Thompson-Nicola Regional District issued an evacuation order for the Downing Provincial Park day use and campground areas, effective at 4:30 p.m. Anyone in the evacuation alert area must be ready to leave on short notice. The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District has also issued an evacuation order for about 11 addressed properties along Pear Lake Road and Pavilion-Clinton Road.
