The Wood Buffalo RCMP, just under a month ago, issued a stern warning to residents following a series of OHV accidents in the region; OHV use is illegal on Fort McMurray roads outside of the Abasand neighbourhood, including all sidewalks, green spaces and urban trails. Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) Bylaw Services are cracking down as the situation becomes a pain point for Police. “No thrill, social media post, or moment of excitement is worth risking your life or the lives of others,” warned Staff Sergeant Sabrina Clayton, Acting Operations Support Officer at Wood Buffalo. “Fleeing from police and driving dangerously can lead to serious criminal charges, injuries, or worse.”
