BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — John Battle High School baseball coach Jimmy Gobble has stepped down after eight seasons with the Trojans, school officials announced Monday. Gobble, a former Major League Baseball pitcher with the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox, took over the program in 2018 and compiled a 141-63 record during his tenure.
