Colorado socialist candidate Melat Kiros pushed more immigrants with "heritage in the global south" to enter office and push back against the "exploitative and extractive" nature of the United States last week. One way, she argued, was pushing people who understand American exploitation "on a fundamental level." She continued, "And that means getting more immigrants into office. That means getting more people who have heritage in the global south into office because that's where those decisions are made specifically." During the event, she appeared to push an anti-capitalist sentiment based on her experience as an attorney, claiming that it "broke [her] spirit."
