Kevin Cusimano is CIO for the City of Carmel, Ind., where he leads enterprise technology strategy, cybersecurity, networking, data governance and smart city initiatives. StateTech Managing Editor Mickey McCarter spoke to Cusimano on how Carmel upgraded its networking infrastructure with a Wi-Fi 6E–enabled HPE Aruba Networking solution, and about the capabilities the city gained from its network investments. STATETECH: Carmel has invested in modernizing its networking infrastructure across city facilities and public spaces. CUSIMANO: Our primary objective was to build a secure, resilient and scalable digital foundation that could support both today’s operational needs and tomorrow’s innovation. We also wanted to improve reliability for critical city operations, enhance cybersecurity and expand connectivity in public spaces.
