Article contentQuick action on the part of camp counsellors and paramedics saved the life of 15-year-old Jack McAllister at Camp Iawah, on Wolfe Lake near Westport, a week ago.
“My husband and I are incredibly grateful and impressed by Camp Iawah’s response to our son Jack’s medical emergency; it saved his life,” said Jack’s mom, Dana Moss McAllister, in a phone interview on Saturday.
Jack knew he had a peanut allergy, but thought he was OK with cashews.
My peanut allergy had never been severe.
From there, quick action on everyone’s part, including Jack’s, made this a good-news story instead of a tragedy.
