New Accessibility Guidance Aims To Improve Indoor Recreation Spaces Across AotearoaNew guidance, creating accessible and welcoming spaces and places, has been launched to help improve access to indoor sport, recreation and aquatics facilities across Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Sarah Murray, Recreation Aotearoa Chief Executive, said the guidance responds to growing demand for more inclusive and accessible recreation facilities.
“Indoor recreation, sport and aquatics facilities play an important role in keeping communities active and connected across Aotearoa.
The new guide supports more welcoming, safe and accessible indoor spaces and experiences for everyone in the community.
“They are intended to support meaningful engagement and help organisations improve indoor accessibility opportunities together with the people who use these spaces.”
