Non-traditional trademarks – such as three-dimensional trademarks, colour combination trademarks, and sound trademarks – have emerged as powerful tools for businesses to create distinctive brand identities. Three-dimensional trademarksA three-dimensional trademark refers to a trademark consisting solely of a three-dimensional element or containing additional elements combined with a three-dimensional element. Consequently, China's current trademark system only accepts colour combination trademarks for registration, while excluding single-colour trademarks. Trademarks containing elements such as words or graphics in designated colours do not qualify as colour combination trademarks.
