A lucky teenager found a rare Wilt Chamberlain warmup jacket at a thrift store, and it earned him a massive profit at auction. Per the Associated Press' Claire Rush, 19-year-old Quinn Brown purchased a warmup jacket worn by Chamberlain at an Oregon thrift store for $3.07, and it sold for $89,600 at Sotheby's on Monday. The jacket was worn by Chamberlain during the 1972 NBA Finals when the Los Angeles Lakers beat the New York Knicks for their first title since moving to Los Angeles. According to Rush, Brown found the jacket in January and spent months researching to find out if it was worth something. Sotheby's also used photo verification to determine that the jacket had actually been worn by Chamberlain.
