Bleacher Report - Front Page
A rare piece of basketball memorabilia sold for a high price at auction on Monday.
Sections of the Chicago Bulls court from the 1996, 1997 and 1998 NBA Finals, signed by Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, sold for $1,792,000 at Sotheby's.
There were 10 pieces of wood sold, each 10 feet by 4 feet.
The court saw the Bulls win three consecutive Finals, the second three-peat of the Jordan and Pippen-led Chicago squad.
Any piece of memorabilia relating to Jordan, Pippen and those historic Bulls teams is bound to generate plenty of interest, so it's no shock to see pieces of the team's court go for such a price.
