Bishop Jamal Boulos Sleiman Daibes of the only Catholic Diocese in Djibouti, who is participating in the ongoing 21st Plenary Assembly of the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA), has expressed his desire to learn “a lot” about the Church in the Eastern African region. In an interview with ACI Africa at a Laudato Si’ Movement Africa (LSM) workshop that was held as a side event to the July 19–26 AMECEA Plenary Assembly, Bishop Daibes said that his expectation is to see where the Church in the region is heading to. “I'm participating to learn a lot about the Catholic Church in Eastern Africa. The Catholic Bishop, who is participating in the AMECEA Plenary Assembly for the first time, said he was looking forward to contributing to the discussions and understanding how the Church in the region can work together.
