Diplomats called for ICRC access to Palestinian detainees and raised concerns over prison conditions. On Monday, Elon Musk’s social media platform X blocked the account of the United Kingdom’s Consulate in Jerusalem after diplomats from several countries criticized Israeli policy toward Palestinian detainees. Through the British Consulate’s account, those missions called on Israel to allow the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) access to the prisoners. Over 9,000 Palestinians are detained in Israeli prisons, including thousands held without charge or trial. We welcome the recent Israeli Supreme Court ruling on ICRC access and urge its full implementation.”
