In the bylanes of Srinagar and the villages of Kupwara, Shopian or Kishtwar, a revolution is unfolding. These “whiz kids” are not the exception; they are the face of a new Kashmir. Yet, our systems – from schools to government policy – still treat brilliance as an accident, not as a resource to be identified, nurtured and protected. We celebrate the rank-holder, but do we value the child who wants to pursue music, design, theatre or research? Our whiz kids do not need miracles; they need mentors, opportunities and faith.
