Srinagar, July 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Transport Department has prohibited the operation of two-wheelers on motor vehicle aggregator platforms across the Union Territory until a dedicated regulatory framework for bike taxi services is notified.
He said it had come to the department's notice that certain aggregator platforms had either onboarded or were planning to onboard two-wheelers in violation of the existing rules.
"As of now, there is no notified policy permitting bike taxi or two-wheeler aggregator operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
Therefore, no aggregator licence holder shall onboard or operate any two-wheeler until further orders," Mahajan said.
The Transport Commissioner directed all aggregator licence holders to immediately remove any two-wheelers already listed on their platforms and refrain from offering such services.
