William Quinn Soyars, of Texarkana, Texas, found a junonia on July 11 at about 5 p.m. on the beach near the ‘Tweens Waters Inn & Marina on Captiva. Lisa Soyars reported that her son saw what he thought was a piece of one and he always keeps the junonia pieces that he finds. Her parents discovered the islands when they were stationed at the Homestead Air Force Base and they brought her when she was a baby. She and her husband, Matt Soyars, have been visiting since their son was a baby. “William and his younger brother, Ben, and little sister, Sophia, 13, have been searching for junonias as long as he can remember,” Soyars added.
