Lac du Bonnet RCMP are currently searching for two male youths that had fallen into fast-moving rapids at a location in Nutimik Lake, located in Whiteshell Provincial Park. On July 18, 2026, at 12:40pm, Lac du Bonnet RCMP received a report of a possible drowning near Sturgeon Falls Trail in Nutimik Lake. Manitoba RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT) and the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART) were deployed to assist in the search. Despite extensive patrols on the water and along the shorelines, and further aided by the use of drones, both children have yet to be located. RCMP officers along with URT and HEART remain on scene, continuing their search for the two boys.
