The Fishhook Fire’s footprint has been adjusted to 340 acres and is 8% contained as of Monday morning, according to an update from the Southwest Area Management Team 1, which took over command of the fire response early Friday.
“Along the northern edge, crews saw mostly interior burning while helicopters supported using bucket drops to cool heat near containment lines as the weather allowed.”
“Fire behavior is expected to remain low to moderate, with primarily creeping and smoldering fire activity,” he wrote.
The cause of the Fishhook Fire, which was reported at around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, remains undetermined as of Monday morning.
Smoke is expected to remain visible near the Walton Creek drainage and surrounding areas.
