G H Mir Backs statehood demand, calls Jantar Mantar protest 'Ill-Timed'

In a post on X, Mir said the protest was a step to register the demand for the restoration of statehood. He said the Apni Party was keen to see statehood restored and supported every move in that direction. However, he said the timing of the protest was not appropriate, as another major issue was already unfolding at Jantar Mantar, which overshadowed the statehood demand. "The protest march at Jantar Mantar for granting statehood was a step to register the demand. Knowing at Jantar Mantar there was already a big issue in which the statehood demand got eclipsed," Mir said in his post.
