Ranger Officer, Wildlife Control Budgam, Sajjid Faruk, said one leopard had already been captured on June 21, while the remaining two were trapped following an intensive overnight operation. As leopard sightings continued and public concern grew, the facility was upgraded into a 24×7 MAC Control Room on June 5, 2026. "The operation was carried out by me along with the field team led by Block Officer Bashir Ahmad. Wildlife Warden, Wetlands Division Kashmir, Altaf Hussain, commended the dedication and professionalism of the Man-Animal Conflict team and the supporting agencies. "The successful operation is an example of effective interdepartmental coordination in managing human-wildlife conflict while safeguarding both human lives and wildlife," said Wildlife Warden, Altaf Hussain.
