A businessman, Okechukwu Kingsley, was on Monday docked in a Kubwa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly swindling his customer the sum of N1.25 million. The prosecutor, Mr Okpa John, told the court that one Ikenna Umeji, a businessman at DeiDei reported the matter to DeiDei Police Division on Dec. 31, 2025. John alleged that one Okechukwu Kingsley collected stockfish worth N1.25 million from the complainant to sell and return the money, but later diverted the proceed of the sell to his personal use. He alleged that during police investigation and interrogation the defendant could not give a satisfactory account of his actions. The Magistrate, Mrs Oyepeju Mustapha, adjoined the case to enable the prosecuting counsel prepare his witness properly before the next hearing.
