Children’s disability services funding stalled for almost two years

Donegal groups have now been waiting almost two years for grants to provide ’emergency’ children’s disability services. Four organisations in Donegal are due to share €3.6million for services to bridge the gap in services due to waiting lists for Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) services. The children’s disability service funding was first launched in a blaze of publicity with Killygordon boy Jack Donaghey featuring in a photoshoot. Sinn Féin TD for Donegal, Deputy Pearse Doherty, says he received an update from the government this week that no money has yet been paid out from the Children’s Disability Services Fund. “Only through my own pressure has government been pressured into taking any action at all regarding this matter,” Deputy Doherty added.
