NICOSIA— Tourist arrivals in Cyprus reached an all-time high in August 2025, totaling 602,026 visitors — the highest monthly figure since records began in 1976, according to the Statistical Service. The previous record was set just one month earlier, in July 2025, with 589,116 arrivals. From January through August 2025, total arrivals reached 3,034,155 — up 10% from the same period in 2024, an increase of 275,528 visitors. The primary purpose of travel in August was leisure, with 86.5% of tourists visiting for holidays, 11.4% for visiting friends or relatives, and 2.1% for business. Outbound travel by Cypriot residents also surgedCypriot residents made 238,740 trips abroad in August 2025, marking a 23.9% increase compared to 192,756 trips in August 2024.
