The Liberal City Commission met on Tuesday Evening and after Proclaiming as October 5th – 11th as Fire Prevention Week, gave approval to Ordinance No. 4640 to issue a Temporary Event Permit to the Seward County United Way in order to hold their 2025 Oktoberfest Fundraiser. For the Fire Department, the Commission approved the purchase of twelve Scott breathing air cylinders from MES for an amount not to exceed $17,500.00. The Commission approved Vanessa Ardese to serve out the unexpired term of Rueben Cano on the Library Board from September 2025 until June 2028. Angle parking in downtown Liberal was discussed by the Commission and the City will look to hire a City planning/civil engineer to assist the City.
