After a long wait for a light south-easterly breeze to settle, Niall Coleman and Conor Grimley won the opening race of the Flying Fifteen National Championships at the National Yacht Club on Dublin Bay. Racing was shortened at the end of the first downwind with the breeze barely above five knots. Dun Laoghaire's Sean Craig and Alan Green, racing Mach FFive, were third. Peter Murphy and Ciara Mulvey’s Hera secured sixth, followed by Ffastnet with Robin Hilliard and John Stott in seventh. Racing continues this weekend with three more races scheduled off Dun Laoghaire on Saturday and two final races on Sunday.
