The Irish Sailing Junior Champions’ Cup has been postponed due to light winds. Originally set for today, Saturday, 20 September, the event will now kick off tomorrow at the Fastnet Marine & Outdoor Education Centre in Schull, Cork. Race Official Nigel Biggs stated, “Despite our best efforts, the wind gods conspired against us today.” Racing was postponed at 14:30. Much like the Irish Sailing Youth Nationals, it creates a platform for champions to compete in a one-design fleet. This year’s event showcases a nearly equal representation of boys and girls, highlighting talent from clubs nationwide.
