Belfast Live reports that the Queen Mary 2 made an unscheduled stop at Belfast Lough in Northern Ireland on Saturday (20 September) to evacuate a “critically ill” passenger. Donaghadee RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat was called to assist as the passenger was moved ashore at Bangor via the cruise liner’s tender. Launch authority Colin McIlroy said: “Our thanks to our colleagues in Bangor RNLI and Northern Ireland Air Ambulance [who were on standby].
