A dog was rescued yesterday after falling from cliffs east of Roberts Cove off Cork Harbour. The dog's owner, who was searching from a kayak, alerted the Crosshaven RNLI crew. Upon arrival, the owner had located the dog at the base of 180-foot cliffs but could not retrieve it. Crew members Aidan O’Connor and Holly Fegan waded ashore after navigating the lifeboat through rocky terrain. Shore crew members included Derek Moynan, James Fegan, Moira Kavanagh, Alan Venner, Micheal Livingstone, Kline Pennefather, and Micheal McCann, with Phil Maguire and Hugh Tully coordinating the launch.
