to recap, there are three separate issues:1) ABC/Disney's decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel's show;2) the remarks of FCC Chair Brendan Carr that preceded/coincided with ABC's decision; and3) Trump's intemperate remarks that actually do appear to cross a constitutional line against freedom of the press. #1 is a private company making a programming decision. Should be unproblematic and uncontroversial, but . <jk>#2 is a case of a government employee muddying the waters with (quite possibly) ill-advised remarks or (more likely) coldly-calculated remarks designed to capture attention to issues the administration seeks to highlight. #3 is the first actual instance of anything that should begin to interest and/or alarm anyone who is concerned about a) personal free speech, b) government censorship, or c) freedom of the press.
