Pew Research Center data suggests that more than a quarter of religious “nones” reported believing in God. Some 84% of Brazilian “nones” reported praying ever, followed by Colombians (83%), South Africans (77%), Peruvians (71%) and Americans (55%). Pew found that many of the “nones” in the 22 countries report having no particular faith, rather than being atheist or agnostic. Stateside, 19% of American “nones” had no particular faith, while 5% are atheist and 6% agnostic. Greece and Italy were exceptions, with 8% of Greeks being atheists, 2% agnostics and 4% no particular faith; and 11% of Italians being atheists, 7% agnostic and 5% no particular faith.
