The ongoing Canada Post strike is creating challenges for municipal billing across the South Shore, and local governments are putting contingency plans in place to ensure residents can still receive and pay their bills on time. In Queens County, the Region of Queens says water utility bills will be issued October 2 and are due by October 31. Payment options include in-person at the Municipal Administration Building in Liverpool, at most financial institutions, online banking, or by credit card through Paymentus. The Town of Lunenburg has also issued a notice advising residents not to rely on the mail for bill payments during the strike. The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg (MODL) is also implementing similar measures, ensuring residents have multiple ways to access their bills and make payments while Canada Post service is disrupted.
