STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Police in Stevens Point say a missing child was found safe roughly 6.5 hours after he was last seen. The 10-year-old boy wandered from his home at about 6:00 PM on Thursday. At 11 PM, officers issued a public be on the lookout, asking residents to check outbuildings, trail cameras, and home surveillance cameras for signs of the missing boy. That led to a tip from a resident who saw a person matching the boy’s description walking near Highway 54 and Grant Avenue. Officers from multiple jurisdictions in Wood and Portage County reported to the scene, including drone teams.
