APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – One man is claiming self-defense after being arrested following a recent domestic violence incident in Appleton. According to a release from the Appleton Police Department, officers responded to a local bar where a woman with a bloody lip told employees she was followed to the bar by a man. The woman said that her boyfriend ultimately kicked her out of the place where the fight took place. Police say that’s when she had gone to the bar for help with the man following her on foot. Officers made contact with the suspect at his home, where he reportedly admitted to being involved in a physical disturbance with the woman but claimed he acted in self-defense.
